I have met Maria several years ago while we were doing our PhD and it was immediately clear to me how passionate she is about research. Over the years, Maria has always demonstrated to be a hard worker and to put a lot of effort in everything she does - always with a smile on her face! She has huge knowledge of her field of research and a wide range of skills that allowed her to become a worldwide recognized expert in her community. Recently, I had the opportunity to collaborate with her in a neuroimaging project with fNIRS and it was a pleasure to work with her. She is very reliable and very competent. I had an absolute blast working with Maria and learnt so much from her, and I hope to have further opportunities to collaborate again with her in the future. I have never met such a dedicated and smart researcher in my life!
