Maria Luisa and I met during my postdoc at UCSF, where she leads the neuroimaging section of the Language Lab. I had the pleasure of attending many of her talks: from presentations of her works to lectures on methods in neuroimaging. She is always rigorous and detailed, while ensuring clarity and transmitting passion. Notably, she spearheaded the first edition of the San Francisco Brainhack and taught a class in the second edition. Disclosure: we have directly collaborated on a number of manuscripts which, without her skills and knowledge, would not have had such a strong and thorough imaging component.
