  Florence and I met during our Ph.D. in Paris as our lab often interacted. There I had the pleasure of assisting for the first time to presentations of her work which are always rigorous, detailed, and informative. I later directly collaborated with her on a manuscript and attend talks she gave on her postdoctoral work, in both formal and informal meetings. She is a passionate and hard working scientists, with an interdisciplinary background and a focused mindset. Disclosure: we ended up sharing a flat during our postdoc in San Francisco, while this might be perceived as a conflict of interest (she is, indeed, a dear friend), I believe it is actually a plus: I can testify that she is a wonderful person 24/7.
